WAILE (Workshop for Accessible and Inclusive Language Education) is a new workshop series sponsored by VPGE and the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures. Designed for the professional development of language educators, WAILE centers inclusivity and accessibility in language teaching and learning, drawing on critical, decolonial, gender-inclusive, and accessibility-centered pedagogies. Each session focuses on a core theme—Decolonizing Language Education, Gender-Inclusive and Affirming Language, or Accessibility in Language Education—and is open to language TAs, coordinators, education students, instructors, and members of the public. Workshops are hands-on and interactive, led by invited experts, with practical takeaways participants can apply immediately in their classrooms and beyond.
Our upcoming workshop features Dr. Ashley R. Moore (Assistant Professor, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto)
This is an interactive session—participants are encouraged to bring language-learning materials they use in their classes.
