Film Screening: Benoît Delépine & Gustave Kervern's "Aaltra" (2004)

This is an Archive of a Past Event

Born out of Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kervern’s mutual passion for Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki, this caustic and zany movie stages two neighbors who deeply hate each other. One day their mutual hatred leads them to fight and a farming dumpster accidentally falls on both of them. The diagnostic is irrevocable: they will never walk again. They decide to travel to Finland, where the dumpster was made by the company Aaltra, in order to claim a compensation. Thus begins a brilliant wheelchair road trip between two fundamentally opposed characters.
