Stanford Humanities Center
The Stanford Humanities Center
invests in experiences—fellowships, workshops, lectures, and other events—that advance research in and across the disciplines. We promote the exchange of ideas across languages and cultures, and provide insights into the questions that define our world.
The Center fosters a community of more than 40 humanities scholars that includes professors in and out of Stanford, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduates.
Our competitive awards provide time, funding, and collegial enrichment to the projects of our fellows.
For more than 40 years, the Stanford Humanities Center has been the most comprehensive and ambitious university-based institute of its kind. Your support will help us maintain our distinction.
Some other disciplines solve problems. We return to the problems that can never be solved but must be addressed again by each intellectual generation in its own ways.
