Every year, the Stanford Humanities Center assembles an intellectual community in which the discrete projects conceived by fellows are enriched by conversation and critique.
Each annual cohort joins our network of Humanities Center alumni, who convene for public events, conferences, celebrations of new books, and other occasions for intellectual renewal.
The most comprehensive university-based center of its kind, the SHC fosters a community of more than 40 fellows that includes professors in and out of Stanford, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduates. Each class of fellows is selected with a view to developing mutual interests and collaborations. Research workshops and public events enliven the fellows' projects with fresh perspectives.
The public is cordially invited to participate in most SHC activities, including every event that appears on our website.
