Fredrick Berry directs the Stanford Jazz Orchestra with legendary saxophonist Jimmy Heath joining the ensemble for a program of standards and his own compositions.

Jimmy is the middle brother of the legendary Heath Brothers (Percy Heath, bass, and Tootie Heath, drums).   He has performed with many jazz greats of the last 50 years, including Howard McGhee, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis, Coleman Hawkins, Erroll Garner, John Coltrane, Benny Golson, and Ray Bryant.  

During his career, Jimmy Heath has performed on more than 100 albums and has written more than 125 compositions, many of which have become jazz standards recorded by artists including Art Farmer, Cannonball Adderley, Clark Terry, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, James Moody, Milt Jackson, Ahmad Jamal, Ray Charles, Dizzy Gillespie, J.J Johnson, and Dexter Gordon.
