Stanford Repertory Theater Community Symposium: Theater and Labor

This is an Archive of a Past Event

In collaboration with Stanford Continuing Studies, SRT presents a community symposium, Theater and Labor, Saturday, July 30, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. Barry Witham (The Federal Theatre Project: A Case Study), UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor Shannon Jackson (Social Works: Performing Art, Supporting Publics), Peter Stansky (Francis and Charles Field Professor of History, emeritus, The Unknown Orwell), and designer and theater historian William Eddelman (Associate Professor of Drama, emeritus) provide insight into the relationship between theater and labor. SRT artists present scenes from the plays of Brecht, Kushner, Wesker, and the Federal Theatre Project.

The symposium will be Building 320, Escondido Mall, Stanford, CA 94305; that is the outer quad, corner diagonally "behind" Building 200, which is the Lane Building. Through the quad at an angle. If one is facing Memorial Church standing in the inner quad, it's 45 degrees to the right, in the outer quad.
