Radhika Koul is a scholar of literature and philosophy of early modern Europe and medieval Kashmir. An interdisciplinary researcher at heart, she is interested in the ramifications of the thought of so-called "pre-modern" thinkers on contemporary research on how we perceive the world and fiction alike.

Re-cognitions: Spectating Theater, Self and World
Bringing together fields ranging from comparative literature and cognitive science to philosophy and natural language understanding, Radhika’s work exemplifies her belief in the comparative as a mode of thinking that subsumes the interdisciplinary. Her first book brings Kashmir’s rich tradition of Sanskrit poetics, aesthetics, and philosophy to bear on matters considered unique to European modernity. This year, Radhika will be joining Claremont McKenna College as Assistant Professor of Literature.
